For anyone still weeping over Cinemax’s recent edging away from its storytelling traditions of horny detectives fucking their way through murder mysteries toward original series featuring more straightforward gunplay, put away your tissues and, uh, get out your tissues: It’s also adding the late-night original Chemistry, a 13-episode dramedy about a couple whose strong physical attraction erupts into “erotic madness,” which yeah, that’s more like it. Deadline goes on to say that it combines elements of a more “upscale, sophisticated” Red Shoe Diaries with “overtones of Last Tango In Paris.” So borderline rape, but tasteful.
